While the rampant speculation and countless mock drafts have added an element of normalcy to the lead-up to the 2020 NFL Draft, the event itself will be anything but normal.
With most sports leagues shut down around the world and physical distancing measures in place, the NFL has remained steadfast in its commitment to move forward with this year’s draft, and as a result the event will be much different than usual – no stage, no draftee walk-ups, no cheering (or booing) crowds, no team war rooms.
But outside of a couple awkward moments from Roger Goodell and some laughable home draft setups, the first night of the NFL’s first-ever virtual draft went off without a hitch, despite the technological challenges it presented for teams and broadcasters alike.
To help get you caught up, below is every pick from Thursday night’s first round, with a tweet included for each selection to add a bit of context (or hilarity).
