The Buffalo Bills have announced veteran quarterback Matt Barkley is expected to start Sunday at the New York Jets.
Rookie Josh Allen has been ruled out due to an elbow injury.
Barkley last played in an NFL game on Jan. 1, 2017 for Chicago Bears. The 28-year-old was drafted in the fourth round of the 2013 draft by the Philadelphia Eagles out of USC. In 11 career games, Barkley has completed 59.8 per cent of his passes for 1,911 yards, eight touchdowns and 18 interceptions.
He would be the fourth quarterback to start a game this season for the Bills, whose offence has been historically bad through nine games.
