ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The Buffalo Bills released Canadian-born tight end Teyo Johnson on Thursday.
The NFL club also released quarterback Luke Drone.
Johnson was born in White Rock, B.C., and once played for the Canadian junior Olympic basketball team. He is the younger brother of Riall Johnson, a defensive end with the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts.
The six-foot-six, 250-pound Johnson signed with Buffalo as a free agent Jan. 29.
Johnson was originally drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the second round of the 2003 draft. He spent two seasons with the Raiders before joining the Arizona Cardinals in 2005 .
Johnson attended the Miami Dolphins’ training camp in ’06 before being released. He went to training camp last year with Denver but hurt his calf and was let go after reaching an injury settlement with the team.
