Chiefs, Ravens sitting atop of 2020 NFL win totals odds

Matt Youmans joins Follow The Money to unleash his NFL Mock Draft 2.0, and has the Jaguars picking up the best WR in the draft at 9, and getting their QB at 20.

Fresh off their first Super Bowl victory in 50 years, the Kansas City Chiefs are poised to return to action in 2020 with their championship core intact. And that is reflected on the NFL OVER/UNDER win totals, where the Chiefs lead the way as a -120 wager to win OVER 11.5 games at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The Chiefs posted wins in each of their final six regular season games last season to finish the campaign with a 12-4 record for the third time in the past four years. And with a favourable home schedule that features just one opponent sporting a win total of more than 8.0, Kansas City is a solid value bet to at least match last season’s record.

Winners of an NFL-leading 14 games last season, the Baltimore Ravens closely trail the Chiefs as a -115 wager to win OVER 11.5 games. The Ravens rebounded from a middling 2-2 start to last season by closing out their schedule on a 12-game win streak. Baltimore returns to action with a lot to prove after seeing their best season in franchise history come to an end with a stunning 28-12 loss to the Tennessee Titans in their AFC divisional playoff matchup.

While the Chiefs and Ravens are expected to soar, two teams that made playoff appearances are expected to take a step back in 2020, including the NFC champion San Francisco 49ers who sport -115 odds of winning UNDER 10.5 games at online betting sites.

The 49ers have a tough act to follow after ending a five-year playoff drought in impressive fashion last season. The team claimed the top playoff seed in the NFC with a 13-3 record before marching to their first Super Bowl berth in seven years. Despite being set at just -105 to win at least 11 games, though, the Niners remain listed as the +400 favourites to repeat as NFC conference champions, and as a +800 wager on the Super Bowl 55 odds.

Elsewhere on the board, the arrival of Tom Brady has breathed life into the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ win total, which now sits at 9.0 with -125 odds favouring the OVER. But conversely, the New England Patriots also sport a win total of 9.0. That is good news for the Buffalo Bills, who could offer value as a -110 wager to win OVER 9.0 games.

Brady’s new divisional rivals, the New Orleans Saints, feature the shortest odds of any team on the win totals board as a -140 wager to win OVER 10 games, while the Los Angeles Rams are listed as a -135 wager on those NFL odds to win UNDER 9.0 contests.
