Coleman surprises two deaf fans with SB tickets

Derrick Coleman has been legally deaf since he was 3. But he never let that stop him from becoming a professional football player. And he hopes his story can open up opportunity to others dealing with similar disabilities.

Derrick Coleman is quickly becoming one of the most inspiring Seattle Seahawks.

The deaf fullback surprised two hearing-impaired young fans with Super Bowl tickets Thursday on ABC’s Good Morning America.

Coleman became a viral star after Duracell released a commercial highlighting his unlikely path (he is the first legally deaf offensive player) to the NFL.

He had been in contact with the two young fans after he received a letter from a nine-year-old Riley Kovalchik, who along with her sister is hearing-impaired.

“I know how you feel,” Kovalcik wrote to Coleman. “I also have hearing aids. Just try your best. I have faith [sic] in you.”
