JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed first-year cornerback Josh Johnson to a free-agent contract, making him part of the team’s 90-man off-season roster.
The 5-foot-10 Johnson most recently played for the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League. Over the past two seasons, Johnson totalled 100 tackles and three interceptions in 34 games. After going undrafted in 2013, Johnson signed with the San Diego Chargers before being released prior to the regular season.
Johnson attended Purdue, where he was an honourable mention All-Big Ten performer in 2012. He started 36 of 49 games for the Boilermakers, totalling 184 tackles, 31 pass breakups and six interceptions.
