Johnny Manziel hears your Colin Kaepernick comeback comparisons, and he wants them to stop.
The two unsigned quarterbacks found themselves unemployed for two very different reasons and that’s something that has been on Manziel’s mind of late.
On Saturday, the quarterback sent out a series of tweets to show his support for Kaepernick and the social causes he has so vehemently supported — and that may have ultimately cost the former 49ers starter his job — and called Kaepernick’s impact “legendary and straight admirable.”
Manziel, 25, recently stated his intention to get back into professional football, and drew interest from scouts earlier this week when he threw at the University of San Diego’s pro day. The former NCAA star’s professional career was cut short due to substance abuse and other off-field issues during his two years in the league before being cut by the Browns in 2016.
