Every Saturday, Sportsnet fantasy analyst Andy McNamara will answer all your fantasy football questions ahead of Sunday’s slate of games. If you’re looking for fantasy football advice, message him on Twitter using #AskAndy.

It’s go-time people – either your fantasy football playoffs are here or they are up next week. I love getting your questions, and boy there have been a lot of them.

From @kjm_cannot – Hey Andy. First off, huge thanks for helping me finish first in my FF League this year. First time ever. Who do I start at QB, Fitzmagic or Brees? Also in flex do I go with Shepard (NYG) or Samuel(CAR)? Thanks again for all the advice this year. #AskAndy

I’m waving the “Fitzmagic” wand and rolling with Ryan Fitzpatrick in revenge game part two versus his former Jets club. The Harvard grad has posted over 25 fantasy points in back-to-back contests and has the better matchup over Brees.

Dial up Shepard. I know Eli Manning returning to the starter roll isn’t ideal, but I’ll take my chances over the erratic production of Curtis Samuel in Carolina.

From @C_Rollands3 – Matchup nightmares for my roster week 1 of playoffs. Standard scoring. Would you go Brees or Tannehill? WR: OBJ or Sutton? #AskAndy

I’m expecting a big road bounce-back for Tannehill as he faces a stumbling Raiders squad that’s allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. The “Tanne-Thrill” returns!

Brees battles a 49ers defence giving up the second-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks, so I’m staying away of this head-to-head.

From Jason Macfarlane on Twitter – #AskAndy do you see any value in Spencer Ware with Darrel Williams going down for the Chiefs? On the bye in my fantasy playoffs so trying to plan ahead

I wouldn’t waste the waiver-wire priority pick on Ware. If you want to add any Chiefs RB make it Darwin Thompson, but that committee is so muddled with bodies and maybes that I’d avoid it all together if possible. Note that Damien Williams was officially ruled out on Friday afternoon.

A nice stash would be to pick up Cleveland’s David Njoku as he’s been off injured reserve for two weeks and is low-end TE1 when healthy.

From @paulsousa80 – Need a flex. Miles Sanders, Christian Kirk or John Ross? #AskAndy

100 per cent Miles Sanders here. Jordan Howard is questionable and I feel Sanders is in line to be rewarded for his monster game last weekend. He’s also got a decent matchup as the Giants head into Philadelphia.

John Ross has always been a boom-or-bust TD dependant receiver that you can’t trust, and I’d shy away from the Steelers defence when it comes to Kirk.

From @BenNacson – half ppr need a WR and a Flex: John Brown, James Washington, Drake, Guice, Jamaal Williams #AskAndy

JuJu Smith-Schuster’s been officially ruled out for Sunday and that makes James Washington Pittsburgh’s WR1. It’s a road trip to Arizona, but the Cardinals are allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to receivers. See if you can stack him with tight-end teammate Vance McDonald as the Cardinals are ranked 32nd defending that position.

For the flex, you’ll be in good shape with either Derrius Guice or Jamaal Williams. I’m leaning towards Guice as Adrian Peterson is listed as questionable and it was Guice who received the goal-line carries this past week.

From Massie85 – #AskAndy here’s my dilemma, start Brees, start niners D. Play against each other or play Carr and sit brees and keep niners D or play Brees, drop singletary and pick up Texans D. #forfirstbeforeplayoffs #thanksagain

Wow, a lot of moving parts here! Start Brees, grab Houston DST. Is there anyone else you can drop instead of Buffalo’s Devin Singletary? Not a great matchup for him versus Baltimore, but still valuable to have if running-back depth is a concern.

From @Thatxreuangirth – #AskAndy what do you think about Singletary this week against Baltimore. Would you bench him in favour of either Penny or Darwin Thompson

I’m staying away from that mess of a Kansas City backfield, especially in the fantasy playoffs when a mistake could end your season. I’ll give a slight edge to Penny based on his high-volume usage the past two weeks.
