Terrell Owens speaks to Connected

Sportsnet.ca —

Terrell Owens leaves no stone unturned in his Canadian exclusive interview with Sportsnet Connected, which airs in two parts, starting Sunday, March 29th at 6 p.m. (ET)/3 p.m. (PT) in the early and primetime editions of Connected, followed with part 2, Monday, March 30th.

The Buffalo Bills wide receiver sat down with Connected reporter Arash Madani to discuss a number of topics, including his departure from the Dallas Cowboys, how he ended up with the Bills and his excitement of playing in Toronto later this year.

In addition to being Owens’ first Canadian interview, Sportsnet is also his first national network interview since being released by the Cowboys.

Owens opens up in part-one of the interview as he discusses the conspiracy behind his dismissal from the Dallas Cowboys.<br.
“You hear all the speculation and you talk to the owner of the team and he reassures you you’re not going anywhere,” Owens describes. “And then, out of left-field… you get blindsided.”

Madani says his interview with Owens reflected an individual who still remains stung from being released by the Cowboys. “Owens on three occasions told us he didn’t believe his release was solely Jerry Jones’s call and said he was assured by the owner he’d be part of the team’s future,” said Madani. “He had a lot on his chest about how things went down in Dallas and he shared a lot of it with us.”

Owens, a six-time NFL All-Star and six-time Pro Bowler, currently holds the league’s single-game reception record with 20. Owens began his career with the San Francisco 49ers in 1996 playing eight seasons before joining the Philadelphia Eagles where he enjoyed his lone Super Bowl appearance in 2004. The former 49er signed with the Cowboys and played three seasons from 2006-2008.
