With the new season just over a month away, Patrick Mahomes has emerged as the quarterback to beat on the 2019 NFL player betting props, where he is a +450 favourite to once again lead the league in passing yards at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The 23-year-old powered the Kansas City Chiefs‘ league-leading offence with 5,097 passing yards, while joining Peyton Manning as the only other quarterback in NFL history to toss for 50 or more touchdowns in a season.

Now saddled with high expectations, Mahomes sits atop the odds to once again throw the most touchdowns passes in the NFL, but will face stiff competition from Indianapolis Colts passer Andrew Luck, who joins him as a +450 co-favourite at sports betting sites.

Luck enjoyed an impressive comeback campaign in 2018 after missing all of the 2017 season due to injury. The 29-year-old trailed only Mahomes with 39 touchdown passes while leading the Colts to a 10-6 record and their first playoff appearance since 2014.

Luck threw for 4,593 yards last season, good for fifth among NFL pivots, but lags behind Mahomes on the odds to lead the league in passing yards. Luck joins Aaron Rodgers at +800, while Atlanta’s Matt Ryan is second to the Chiefs QB at +500.

While Mahomes dominates on the quarterback season props, it’s three-way race on the odds to lead the NFL in touchdown receptions, with Davante Adams, DeAndre Hopkins, and Travis Kelce deadlocked at +1200.

Adams reached double-digits in touchdown catches for a third-straight year last season, pulling in a career-high 13 touchdown receptions with the Green Bay Packers, good for second in the NFL behind only Antonio Brown.

Kelce also set a career-high in his fifth campaign with the Chiefs, making 10 scoring catches, and is expected to be a favourite target of Mahomes this season. Hopkins looks to duplicate his efforts from 2017, when he led the NFL with 13 touchdown receptions, and remained a steady target in Houston last season with 11 scoring catches.

Hopkins also sits second on the odds to record the most receiving yards in 2019 as a +650 wager, just back of Atlanta’s Julio Jones who sits perched at +375 to lead the league for a second straight year.

Finally, it’s a two-way race in the backfield between Ezekiel Elliott and Saquon Barkley on the player props. The star running backs sit level as +800 co-favourites on the NFL odds to record the most touchdown runs in the season ahead, while Elliott holds the edge as a +300 favourite to tally the most rushing yards in 2019.
