Patriots add O’Brien to staff

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The New England Patriots have hired Scott O’Brien as the new special teams co-ordinator.

The team announced Tuesday that he will join the club after spending the last two seasons as the Denver Broncos’ special teams co-ordinator.

The team also announced that Bill O’Brien, who served as New England’s wide receivers coach last season, has been tapped as the new quarterbacks coach. He began his NFL career as an offensive coaching assistant for the Patriots in 2007.

In addition, Josh Boyer will serve as defensive backs coach. He had spent the last three seasons as the Patriots’ defensive coaching assistant.
