The Cincinnati Bengals may be without No. 1 receiver A.J. Green to start the 2019 season.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Green will miss the next six to eight weeks after an MRI revealed torn ligaments in the 30-year-old’s left ankle. Schefter adds it’s unlikely Green will be ready for the Bengals’ regular-season opener against the Seattle Seahawks.

Green was carted off the field with the injury during Cincinnati’s first practice of the new season on Saturday.

The South Carolina native has been selected to seven Pro Bowls since entering the league in 2011.

Last season was the only one in his career in which Green didn’t earn Pro-Bowl recognition, largely because he was limited to just nine games due to a toe injury. He was also forced to miss 10 games in 2016 due to a hamstring tear.
