The Denver Broncos have acquired Pro Bowl defensive lineman Jurrell Casey from the Tennessee Titans, according to NFL Network‘s Ian Rapoport.

Rapoport implies part of the reason the Titans dealt Casey for such a low price was due to his hefty salary.

As a result of Casey’s $11.25-million 2020 price tag, the Broncos are reportedly expected to release veteran quarterback Joe Flacco as early as Wednesday.

Casey, 30, was selected by the Titans in the third round (77th overall) of the 2011 draft and has been to five straight Pro Bowls. A disruptive force against the run and as a pass rusher, the Long Beach, Calif., native has racked up 51 career sacks, including a career-high 10.5 in 2013.

Casey also played a vital role on a defence that shut down both the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens this past post-season as the Titans shocked the football world with a trip to the AFC title game.

Flacco, 35, will see his time with the Broncos come to an end after just one disappointing season that saw Denver struggle with him under centre and his campaign ultimately end after eight games due to a neck injury.
