The Detroit Lions have traded cornerback Darius Slay to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a third- and a fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Schefter adds that as part of the trade, the Eagles have reportedly agreed to a three-year, $50-million extension with Slay, which includes $30 million guaranteed.

With a $16.7 million annual value, Slay will be the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL.

The 29-year-old had expressed a desire to move on from the Lions, airing his frustrations on Twitter and held out of voluntary workouts and mandatory minicamp to pursue a new contract last season.

In 14 games in 2019 with Detroit, Slay had 46 tackles and two interceptions. He enjoyed a career-best eight interceptions in 2017 which led the league.
