The New York Giants are “open to discussing a possible Odell Beckham Jr. trade,” according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
This news comes a day after team owner John Mara told reporters at the NFL owners’ meetings, when speaking about the polarizing wide receiver, that no Giants player is “untouchable.”
“I can’t answer that one way or the other,” Mara said when asked if he could see Beckham not in a Giants uniform in 2018. “We’re certainly not shopping him, if that’s what you’re asking. When you’re coming off a season when you’re 3-13 and played as poorly as we played, I wouldn’t say anybody’s untouchable.”
Mara added that trading Beckham Jr. is “not a scenario I would like to see happen.”
Rapoport expanded on Mara’s comments Monday morning on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football.
“This was the owner … standing up in front of cameras mentioning the word ‘Odell Beckham’ and using the word ‘trade,'” Rapoport. “Not saying they’re shopping him. They have not shopped him. But, obviously, the Giants are willing to listen.”
