New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is “highly unlikely” to play against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Gronkowski didn’t travel with the team to Chicago, and is reportedly dealing with a back injury.
Gronkowski leads the Patriots in receiving through six games this season, racking up 405 yards and a touchdown on 26 receptions.
The 29-year-old has missed at least one game in each of the last six seasons and hasn’t played a full 16-game campaign since 2011.
If Gronkowski is out, Dwayne Allen becomes the No. 1 tight end for Tom Brady.
