Washington Redskins running back Derrius Guice is out indefinitely after undergoing surgery Thursday to trim a torn meniscus, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
With Guice out, Washington will turn to Adrian Peterson against the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday. The 2012 MVP was a healthy scratch for the first time in his career for Washington’s Week 1 loss at the Philadelphia Eagles.
Guice’s injury is another setback for the second-year back who missed the entire 2018 season – his rookie year – after suffering a torn ACL in his first-ever pre-season game.
Selected by Washington in the second round (59th overall) in 2018, Guice racked up more than 3,000 yards rushing and 32 total touchdowns in three years at LSU before turning pro.
