The Seattle Seahawks are signing running back Carlos Hyde to a one-year deal, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport.

Hyde can reportedly earn up to $4 million on the deal.

Hyde, 29, joins a backfield in Seattle which already includes Chris Carson, Rashaad Penny and Travis Homer. The Seahawks also selected DeeJay Dallas in the fourth round of last month’s draft.

Both Carson and Penny are coming off season-ending injuries, while Homer made up one half of Seattle’s running back duo to finish the 2019 campaign alongside veteran Marshawn Lynch, who is currently a free agent.

Already an NFL journeyman, Hyde spent last season with the Houston Texans and surpassed 1,000 yards rushing for the first time in his five-year NFL career.

Selected in the second round (57th overall) by the San Francisco 49ers in 2014, Hyde has racked up 4,370 rushing yards on 1,072 carries – 4.1 yards per run – and 32 scores on the ground with the Niners, Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars and Texans.
