RENTON, Wash. — The Seattle Seahawks have agreed to terms on a new contract with veteran linebacker and special teams standout Mike Morgan.

Seattle announced the deal with Morgan on Saturday. The unrestricted free agent had made visits to a few other teams before deciding to return to the Seahawks.

Morgan first joined Seattle as an undrafted free agent in 2011. While his playing time on defence has been limited to spot duty, he has become a vital part of Seattle’s special teams. Morgan started two games at strongside linebacker last season and recorded 17 tackles with one sack.

His role on defence could increase in 2016 with the departure of Bruce Irvin for Oakland in free agency.
