Sportsnet remains the home for NFL

TORONTO — Rogers Sportsnet has come to a new three-year agreement with the National Football League to be the exclusive Canadian broadcaster of the NFL Network’s eight-game schedule this fall.


Rogers Sportsnet opens the 2009 NFL season with the NFC East champion New York Giants hosting the Washington Redskins on Sunday, September 13 at 2 p.m. (MT) / 1 p.m. (PT) on Sportsnet West, Sportsnet West HD, Sportsnet Pacific and Sportsnet Pacific HD.

Sportsnet will also feature the St. Louis Rams visiting the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, September 13 at 4 p.m. (ET) on Sportsnet East, Sportsnet East HD, Sportsnet Ontario and Sportsnet Ontario HD.


The NFL Network’s regular-season schedule features six Thursday night broadcasts: including the Buffalo Bills hosting the New York Jets at Rogers Centre in Toronto: one Saturday night telecast and a Friday-night broadcast on Christmas.

Sportsnet broadcasts two NFL regional regular-season games, every Sunday at 4 p.m. (ET) throughout the regular season.

Sportsnet will broadcast the Bills vs. Jets on December 3rd at 8 p.m. (ET). The contest marks the third of eight games over a five-year period for the Bills at Rogers Centre in Toronto.

Sportsnet’s eight-game schedule kick off on Thursday, November 12 when quarterback Jay Cutler leads the Chicago Bears against the San Francisco 49ers at 8 p.m. (ET).

Fans of the Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers will have an opportunity to see their team in action on Thursday, Dec. 10th at 8 p.m. (ET) when they face the Cleveland Browns.
