Quarterbacks continue to dominate on the odds to be named Super Bowl MVP, with Kansas City Chiefs pivot Patrick Mahomes leading the way as a short +105 favourite on the Super Bowl LIV props at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Mahomes has been spectacular during Kansas City’s playoff drive, piling up 615 passing yards and eight touchdowns, and has emerged as the team’s leading rusher going into Sunday’s game at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

The 24-year-old passer has been atop the Super Bowl MVP odds since early favourite Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens were bounced from the playoffs with a stunning upset defeat at the hands of the Tennessee Titans in AFC Divisional Round action. Mahomes has seen his odds vault to near even money since leading Kansas City to a decisive 35-24 win over the Titans in the AFC Championship Game with four total scores and 56 rushing yards.

Mahomes’ elite performance has also made him the darling of the Super Bowl player props, with strong -145 odds favouring him to throw for OVER 305.5 yards. He also sports -145 odds to connect on at least three touchdown passes for an eighth time this season, and is a -190 favourite to complete more pass attempts on Sunday night than San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

Garoppolo sits second to Mahomes as a +260 wager on the Super Bowl MVP odds at online betting sites after guiding the Niners back to the Super Bowl for the first time in seven years. However, with the San Francisco game plan clearly focused on the ground game, Garoppolo has just 208 total passing yards and one scoring throw in two playoff outings. Conversely, 49ers rushers have carried the ball for 11 scores over the past four outings, including six total scoring runs in playoff action.

Raheem Mostert is coming off a four-touchdown performance in the 49ers’ 37-20 win over Green Bay in the NFC Championship Game, lifting him to +700 on the Super Bowl MVP odds. Mostert is also pegged as a strong -125 wager on the Super Bowl player props to compile at least 80 combined rushing and receiving yards, and a -130 wager on those NFL odds to score a touchdown sometime on Sunday night.

On the defensive side of the ball, 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa leads the way as a +2000 wager to claim Super Bowl MVP honours. The rookie defender has racked up 10 total tackles and three total sacks so far in the playoffs. And with -105 odds to record at least one sack on Sunday, Bosa could be well positioned to spoil Mahomes’ coronation as Super Bowl MVP.
