In two seasons with the Titans, Murray rushed for 1,946 yards on 447 carries and 15 touchdowns and caught 92 receptions for 643 yards and four scores.
“I want to thank DeMarco for his contributions as a Titan, not only for what he did on the field but also in the locker room and in the community,” Titans general manager Jon Robinson said in a statement. “He was a pro in every facet and we wish him and his family the best moving forward.”
As NFL Network analyst Ian Rappaport reports, the Titans will also save money by cutting the six-year veteran.
Derrick Henry is expected to take over as the starting running back in the playoffs after Murray was forced to sit out with an injury.
Henry would go on to set a Titans record for rushing yards in a playoff game with 156 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs, which was the team’s first playoff win since 2003.
