Twitter Reaction: ‘Shame on the Giants’ for benching Manning

The New York Giants‘ decision to bench quarterback Eli Manning on Tuesday in favour of Geno Smith was controversial, to say the least.

That means Sunday’s game versus the Oakland Raiders brings an end to Manning’s streak of 210 consecutive starts in the regular season. Only Brett Favre (297) had a longer run of games than New York’s veteran pivot.

Former NFL players, coaches and several media members voiced their outrage over the Giants’ decision, and the overall handling of the situation, on Twitter.
