Watch: Emotional Moreno cries during pre-game

Justin Timberlake sang ‘Cry Me A River’ in 2002. Eleven years later, someone finally took him literally.

Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno got a little emotional during the pre-game rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner before his team faced the Chiefs yesterday — and his tears were, well, excessive. Copious, even.

But apparently, Moreno is an emotional guy, and his giant tears are a common sight to teammates.

“I see it all the time,” Broncos back Montee Ball said after the game. “He does it in practice and he does it in games. It is all heart, it is his passion for the game. It is massive. We all feed off that energy.”

Moreno himself explained that he was caught up in the moment — ready to enter a game in which he was questionable to play with a tweaked ankle.

“The emotion always gets me,” Moreno told reporters after the game. “I just love this game so much. I guess it got the best of me again.”
