XFL chirps NFL with cartoon rule demonstrations

Tim Micallef is bombarded with some old but amazing footage of Greg Sansone, Elliotte Friedman and himself launching Canadian coverage of the 2001 XFL.

The XFL is taking shots at the NFL, and those shots are entertaining – if not necessarily landing.

Vince McMahon’s new project tweeted out a series of videos on Super Bowl Sunday, each hinting at the XFL’s potential differences from its would-be rival.

The most popular of the cartoons has been the one that takes aim at the NFL’s often controversial rules regarding what is and isn’t a catch.

Then there’s one that would appear to promise fewer commercial breaks.

The last video, and quite honestly the best one, chirps the NFL for the excessive amount of fouls called during a game.

Who doesn’t appreciate a good mattress tag removal joke?

To give credit to the somewhat-gimmicky-sounding XFL, it does take a certain type of, well, fortitude to try and steal thunder from the NFL’s Christmas.

What do you think of the videos, and the XFL in general?
