CANTON, Miss. — Canada’s Adam Svensson has earned a berth in this week’s PGA Tour event through its Monday qualifier.

The native of Surrey, B.C., shot a 6-under 66 to earn one of four spots in the Sanderson Farms Championship, starting Thursday in Jackson, Miss.

Svensson tied for second in the Monday qualifier before surviving a 4-for-3 playoff for the final three spots.

Stephan Jaegar won the qualifier with an 8-under 64.

Svensson, 25, joins fellow Canadians Corey Conners, David Hearn, Michael Gligic and Nick Taylor in the second event of the 2019-20 PGA season.

Svensson lost his PGA Tour card last season when he finished outside the top 125 in the FedEx Cup standings and then didn’t place in the top 25 at the Korn Ferry Tour Finals.
