Dustin Johnson will be looking to solidify his spot atop the World Golf Rankings with his second win of the season when he tees off on Thursday at the WGC-Workday Championship as a +600 betting favourite on the golf odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Johnson will be making just his third appearance on tour since winning last year's Masters, as the scene shifts to Florida for the first time this season for this weekend's WGC-Workday Championship at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton.

Johnson squandered a strong start last weekend at the Genesis Invitational, shooting plus-1 over the final two rounds to finish tied for eighth. That marked his eighth top-ten finish in nine outings dating back to last August, a run that featured four straight top-two finishes during Johnson's impressive march to the FedExCup title. Johnson has also enjoyed prior success at previous editions of this event, claiming victory in three of the past six years.

With preparations for this year's Masters starting in earnest with this weekend's tournament, there are no shortage of big names trailing Johnson on the betting lines. Jon Rahm sits second at +1000 at online sports betting sites, ahead of Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele at +1400.

Rahm has been the model of consistency so far this season, joining the top ten in five of his past six outings. The talented Spaniard finished strong last weekend at the Genesis Invitational, shooting a final-round 66 to claim fifth pace, but has never earned a tournament win during the month of February since joining the PGA Tour six years ago.

The struggles that have plagued McIlroy since golf returned last June continued at the Genesis Invitational, where he missed the cut. The 31-year-old finished among the leaders in his past two major tournament appearances, but has otherwise finished among the top ten in just one event since last June, and no better than 13th so far this season.

Schauffele also took a modest step back last week, claiming a share of 15th place, and ending a stretch of three straight top-five finishes. The 27-year-old has yet to win this season, but has come in second on three occasions, including this month's Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Further down the golf odds for this week's event, Bryson Dechambeau sits level with Patrick Cantlay and Justin Thomas at +1800. Tony Finau and Tyrell Hatton are knotted at +2000, while Brooks Koepka joins Viktor Hovland at +2500. And the winner two weeks ago at Pebble Beach, Daniel Berger, returns alongside defending tournament champion Patrick Reed at +2800 odds.
