MIRABEL, Que. — Six Canadians have been added to the field for the CN Canadian Women’s Open.
Isabelle Beisiegel of Saint Hilaire, Que., Maude-Aimee LeBlanc of Sherbrooke, Que., Lisa Meldrum of Montreal, Adrienne White of Red Deer, Alta., Augusta James of Bath, Ont., and Nicole Vandermade of Brantford, Ont., were given exemptions for the tournament next week at Hillsdale Golf and Country Club.
That puts the number of Canadians in the field at 17.
Beisiegel, from Sainte Hilaire, Que., has a pair of top-10 finishes on the 2011 LPGA Futures Tour. She made headlines earlier this year when she earned non-exempt status on the Canadian Tour, becoming the first woman to earn playing privileges on a men’s pro tour.
No Canadian has won Canada’s LPGA Tour event since Jocelyne Bourassa in 1973.
