Former Argos RB Crawford named Canadian Open director

OAKVILLE, Ont. – Bryan Crawford is Golf Canada’s new tournament director for the RBC Canadian Open.

Crawford played seven seasons at running back for the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts, before working as the interim executive director and director of operations with Ontario University Athletics.

The 36-year-old Hamilton native spent the past three years as senior director, operations at Canada Basketball.

He led several of the organization’s strategic business functions, including overseeing the development, implementation and operations of all Canada Basketball hosting and revenue generating activities.

Crawford will report directly to Golf Canada chief championship officer Bill Paul, who will continue to oversee all aspects of the 2018 event next week at Glen Abbey in Oakville, Ont.
