Mahan tweets thanks, arrival of baby girl

OAKVILLE, ON–Regardless of who goes on to win the RBC Canadian Open on Sunday, it’s doubtful they’ll have had a better weekend than Hunter Mahan.

The 31-year-old Mahan, who entered Saturday leading the tournament by two shots at 13-under par, sent shockwaves through the field when he withdraw shortly before his third round was set to begin after receiving word his wife had gone into labour.

On Sunday morning, Mahan sent out an update and some thanks via Twitter:

RBC is one of Mahan’s main sponsors, and it’s been reported the company provided Mahan with a private plane to fly back to his home base in Dallas.
