Rory McIlroy will try to build on an eighth-place finish at the PGA Championship when he returns to action later this week at the Memorial Tournament as a +900 betting favourite on the golf futures at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

McIlroy has turned in steady results this season, finishing in the Top 10 in nine of his 11 appearances on the PGA Tour going into Thursday’s tee-off of the 2019 Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.

The native of Northern Ireland has earned one win so far this season, claiming victory at the Players Championship as a +1200 co-favourite back in March, and also turned in a second-place performance at the WGC-Mexico Championship. McIlroy has also finished among the Top 10 in his past two appearances at this tournament, including a fourth-place finish three years ago.

After climbing back into the top five on the World Golf Rankings for the first time in five years, Tiger Woods travels to the Memorial Tournament sitting second to McIlroy as a +1100 wager on the golf odds, well ahead of Justin Rose, who joins Patrick Cantlay at +1600.

Pegged at No. 13 at the end of 2018, Woods has continued his climb up the rankings despite missing the cut at the PGA Championship while sporting +2800 odds. Woods has fueled his resurgence with his victory at the Masters as a +1400 bet, and has enjoyed considerable success at the Memorial, posting a record five career victories, with his most recent win coming back in 2012.

Rose has also tasted victory at the Memorial Tournament, earning the win in 2010, and has finished as runner-up on two occasions, most recently in 2015 when he lost a playoff to Sweden’s David Lingmerth. However, the third-ranked Englishman has struggled at times this season, struggling to a distant 58th place in last week’s Charles Schwab Challenge after turning in a disappointing 29th-place finish at the PGA Championship as a +2000 wager.

It has been somewhat of a roller coaster campaign for Cantlay in 2019. The 27-year-old American impressed with a third-place finish last time out at the PGA Championship, and also finished ninth and third in the Masters and RBC Heritage, respectively. However, Cantlay has also missed the cut on three occasions this season, including the PLAYERS Championship, and at last month’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Further down the odds at online sports betting sites to win the Memorial, Jordan Spieth joins Justin Thomas at +1800, ahead of Matt Kuchar and Tony Finau, who sit knotted at +2000, while defending champion Bryson Dechambeau lags at +2800.
