Allenby wins Nedbank Challenge in playoff

SUN CITY, South Africa — Robert Allenby has won the Nedbank Challenge, beating Henrik Stenson on the third playoff hole after a 1-under 71 in the final round.

Stenson shot a 69 to tie Allenby at 11-under 277 at the Gary Player Country Club on Sunday.

Allenby made the 18th green in regulation for the first time in seven attempts, and then parred the 18th on the final playoff hole after Stenson went through the green and chipped 25 feet past the pin.

Overnight leader Retief Goosen had a 75 to finish fifth in the 12-man field.

Tim Clark had a 69 and Ross Fisher shot a 70 to share third, while Masters champion Angel Cabrera was sixth after a 75.
