CROMWELL, Conn. — Zack Sucher shot a 65 Friday to take a two-stroke lead midway through the second round of the Travelers Championship.

The 32-year from Alabama says he’s finally feeling healthy again after knee surgery that took him out of commission for 13 months following the 2017 Travelers.

Sucher, who shot 64 in the last group Thursday night, followed that with a 30 on his front nine Friday morning. Chez Reavie and Keegan Bradley are two shots back at 9 under par.

Some of the bigger names in the tournament are projected to miss the weekend with the cut line hovering around 2 under par.

Two-time champion Phil Mickelson finished at 3 over after shooting 76 on Friday. Jordan Spieth, who won here in 2017, ended with a 2-over 142 after rounds of 73 and 69.
