Count golf legend Gary Player among those unhappy with Chambers Bay, the host of the 2015 U.S. Open.
Heading into the weekend, the likes of Jordan Spieth, Henrik Stenson and Sergio Garcia had already voiced their displeasure with the course, but none have been as blunt as the 79-year-old, nine-time major winner.
“We’re playing the U.S. Open, this great championship, a group of people, the USGA, that I have great respect for, but this has been the most unpleasant golf tournament I’ve seen in my life,” Player said Saturday morning on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive. “I mean the man who designed this golf course had to have one leg shorter than the other.”
“It’s actually a tragedy.”
