The indefinite suspension in the AHL’s 2019-20 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic will not be lifted before May, the league announced Monday.

The AHL’s note also adds that teams are advised to facilitate players’ return to their primary residences during the suspension.

The league announced last Thursday that play would be halted indefinitely, stating that the health of players, officials, staff and fans was of primary importance at this time.
