Hensick scores twice as Bulldogs edge Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa — T.J. Hensick scored twice in the third period as the Hamilton Bulldogs came from behind to defeat the host Iowa Wild 2-1 on Friday in American Hockey League action.

Hensick tied the game with a power-play goal at the 13-minute mark of the third for the Bulldogs (21-17-6), who extended their win streak to five games, and then added the eventual winner at 16:58.

Guillaume Gelinas gave the Wild (15-28-7) a 1-0 lead when he scored with the man advantage 8:23 into the third.

Hamilton’s Mike Condon turned away 37-of-38 shots for the win as Darcy Kuemper made 27 saves for Iowa, which dropped its fifth straight outing.

The Bulldogs went 1 for 3 on the power play while the Wild scored once on four chances with the man advantage.
