Two of Canada's greatest hockey players were recognized by the IIHF on Wednesday.
Cassie Campbell-Pascall and Patrice Bergeron were among seven inductees to the IIHF Hall of Fame's Class of 2026, the federation announced.
Campbell-Pascall won two Olympic gold medals and seven gold medals at the women's world championship, captaining the Canadian women's national team at the Salt Lake City and Turin Winter Games.
She's appeared internationally for the Canadian women 10 times from 1994 to 2006.
Bergeron won Olympic gold with Team Canada in 2010 and 2014, in addition to gold at the 2004 world championships. He donned the maple leaf seven times, including at the world juniors, world championships, World Cup of Hockey, and Olympics, failing to capture gold just once in that time — the 2006 world championship.
Other inductees include players Florence Schelling, Thomas Vanek, Andres Ambühl, Niklas Kronwall and builder Ralph Krueger.
