Highly-regarded NHL Draft prospect Adam Fantilli is expected to play for Canada at the World Championships next month in Finland and Latvia, Sportsnet's Jeff Marek reports.
Fantilli won the Hobey Baker Award as the top player in the NCAA this season, leading the University of Michigan to the Frozen Four in his freshman season.
The six-foot-two centre had 30 goals and 35 assists for 65 points in 36 games this season.
Fantilli, 18, also helped Canada win gold at the World Junior Championship earlier this year in Halifax.
Fantilli is projected to be high pick in this year's NHL Draft.
Marek has reported consensus No. 1 pick Connor Bedard will not play for Canada at the worlds. Bedard's Regina Pats were eliminated in the first round of the WHL playoffs.
The roster traditionally is filled mostly by players eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Canada's first game is May 12 against host Latvia.
