Andrighetto leads Huskies past Remparts

Sven Andrighetto leads all scorers in the post-season with six goals and 18 points in eight games.

Sven Andrighetto scored once and set up two more as the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies defeated the visiting Quebec Remparts 5-2 on Tuesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

The 19-year-old product of Switzerland leads all scorers in the post-season with six goals and 18 points in eight games and has had three outings with at least three points or more.

Dillon Fournier, Jean-Sebastien Dea, Liam O’Brien and Marcus Power also scored for the Huskies, who lead the best-of-seven second-round matchup 2-1, while Gabriel Slight chipped in with two assists.

Ryan Culkin and Kurt Etchegary scored for the Remparts, who have been outscored 13-7 in the series.

After producing 12 points in six games against the Chicoutimi Sagueneens in Round 1, Mikhail Grigorenko has been held pointless against Rouyn-Noranda.

Alexandre Belanger made 21 saves for the win as Francois Brassard stopped 29-of-33 shots in defeat.

Rouyn-Noranda went 2 for 6 on the power play while Quebec failed to score on nine chances with the man advantage.

Both clubs scored once shorthanded.

Game 4 is scheduled for Wednesday in Rouyn-Noranda at the Arena Iamgold. The Huskies are 4-0 at home in the post-season while Quebec dropped to 3-1 on the road after Tuesday’s loss.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL, it was: Halifax 4, Gatineau 2 and Blainville-Boisbriand 5, Val-d’Or 0.

At Rouyn-Noranda, Que., Culkin opened the scoring 2:09 into the first period to put Quebec ahead 1-0.

Andrighetto tied the game with a power-play goal less than two minutes later, however Etchegary scored shorthanded to give the Remparts a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes of play.

Both clubs had 11 shots on goal in the second period but neither squad could score until Power tied the game 40 seconds into the third period.

Fournier gave Rouyn-Noranda its first lead of the game with a short-handed goal at 4:19 and Dea scored with the man advantage at 8:09 to make it 4-2 Huskies.

O’Brien scored into an empty net at 19:12 to seal the victory.

Mooseheads 4 Olympiques 2

At Gatineau, Que., Stefan Fournier had two goals and Zachary Fucale extended his shutout streak to 139:19 before giving up a goal to Emile Poirier at 6:52 of the first period as the Mooseheads doubled up the Olympiques for a 3-0 lead in their second-round matchup. Gatineau will try and avoid elimination when they host Game 4 on Wednesday at Centre Robert-Guertin.

Armada 5 Foreurs 0

At Val-d’Or, Que., Etienne Marcoux stopped all 23 shots he faced and Xavier Oullette scored twice on the power play as the Armada blanked the Foreurs to take a 3-0 second-round series lead. Blainville Boisbraind will try to sweep the series on Wednesday when Val-d’Or hosts Game 4 at the Centre Air Creebec.
