Audette’s two points carry QMJHL over Russia

In their first game against Team Russia, Team QMJHL got a 3-1 win to make Game 6 the deciding game of the Subway Super Series.

BATHURST, N.B. — Daniel Audette had a goal and an assist to lead the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League all-stars past Russia 3-1 on Tuesday in Game 5 of the Super Series.

Francis Perron and Anthony Richard also scored for the QMJHL.

Dmitry Yudin replied for Russia in the third period, which lost their second straight.

Montreal Canadiens prospect Zachary Fucale was solid for the QMJHL, turning aside 40 shots for the win.

Igor Shestyorkin made 15 saves in the loss.

The QMJHL went 1 for 4 on the power play while Russia failed to score on nine chances.

The Super Series continues on Thursday in Rimouski, Que. with the final game of the series. Russia leads the six-game series 3-2.
