Erie Otters standout rookie Connor McDavid was named the Ontario Hockey League’s rookie of the month for the month of October.
The 15-year-old from Newmarket, Ont., registered six goals and six assists for 12 points in 10 games played. He recorded a point in all 10 games during the month, which extended his OHL-high streak to 14 straight games with a point. The streak began in his second career game. McDavid was plus-6 in October as well.
Zach Hall of the Barrie Colts earned OHL Player of the Month honours with six goals, 10 assists and 16 points in just nine games. He had a six-point game against the Ottawa 67’s and registered his first career hat-trick against the Niagara IceDogs.
Defenceman of the Month went to Frank Corrado of the Sudbury Wolves, putting up 12 points in 11 games, while Owen Sound Attack netminder Jordan Binnington was declared Goaltender of the Month after going 6-1-0-1 with a goals-against-average of 1.96 and a save percentage of .940.
