The Calgary Hitmen announced that they’ve taken forward Sean Tschigerl with the fourth-overall pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft.
Tschigerl is a five-foot-11, 173-pound forward from Whitecourt, Alta., who played with OHA Edmonton Bantam Prep this past season. He collected 70 points in the regular season while scoring 31 goals in 30 games.
Tschigerl captained his team to a CSSHL Championship netting 14 points in five playoff contests.
“Sean is an excellent prospect who is not only an elite offensive talent but plays a strong 200-foot game,” said Dallas Thompson, Hitmen director of player personnel.
Two players from this year’s draft class are from the Calgary region in forward Tristan Zandee of the Airdrie Xtreme and Calgary Bisons goaltender Marek Pocherewny.
“Our 2018 draft class is loaded with talent and potential setting our club up for future success,” said Dallas Thompson. “We would like to welcome all of our picks to the Hitmen organization and look forward to seeing them at training camp this fall.”
