Hockey Canada names 22 players to Ivan Hlinka roster

Hockey Canada has named 22 players to its roster for the 2017 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup.

The tournament takes place on Aug. 7-12 in Breclav, Czech Republic, and Bratislava, Slovakia, and will feature some of the best 2018 NHL Draft-eligible talent in the world.

The Canadian roster, led by forward Joe Veleno and defenceman Ryan Merkley, will look to avenge Canada’s disappointing fifth-place finish at the tournament in 2016 – breaking a string of eight consecutive golds.
