Hockey Fail of the Year: Player clotheslines self

Watch as Alpena Flyers defenceman Mitchell Skiba adds insult and more injury to himself after being ejected from a game.

Mitchell Skiba, a defenceman for the Alpena Flyers of the Midwest Junior Hockey League, would probably like a do-over.

In a game against the MC Monarchs Sunday, Skiba received a five-minute spearing penalty and a game misconduct late in the third period.

As he was leaving the ice, well, you can see from above things didn’t go as planned.

The Flyers lost the game 7-3.

Skiba has three goals, nine assists and 103 penalty minutes in 18 games with the Flyers this season.
