Already the most decorated skater in Ontario Hockey League history, Connor McDavid has added one more accolade to his spectacular junior career.
On Wednesday, McDavid was named to the OHL 1st All-Star Team at the centre position.
Joining the No. 1 NHL prospect on the wings is London Knights duo Max Domi and Mitch Marner, while Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and Owen Sound Attack defencemen Anthony DeAngelo and Chris Bigras, along with Kingston Frontenacs goalie Lucas Peressini make up the back end of this killer lineup.
Greyhounds coach Sheldon Keefe has been voted in as the 1st All-Star Team’s bench boss.
The OHL 2nd All-Star Team features McDavid’s Erie Otters teammates Dylan Strome and Alex DeBrincat, in addition to Tyler Bertuzzi of the Guelph Storm, the Greyhounds’ Darnell Nurse, Rasmus Andersson of the Barie Colts and Ken Appleby of the Oshawa Generals. Jeff Brown of the Ottawa 67’s got the nod as 2nd team coach.
The 3rd All-Star Team is comprised of the Colts’ Joseph Blandisi, Michael Dal Colle of the Generals and Sergey Tolchinsky of the Greyhounds on the wings, the Sarnia Sting’s Jakob Chychrun and the Belleville Bulls’ Jordan Subban on the blue line, Alex Nedeljkovic of the Plymouth Whalers and Generals coach D.J. Smith behind the bench.
