Mistele’s winner sends Generals to OHL final

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Matt Mistele scored the eventual winner and the Oshawa Generals held off the North Bay Battalion for a 2-1 win on Sunday in Game 6 of their Ontario Hockey League playoff series.

Oshawa advances to the OHL’s final with the win. The Generals will play Connor McDavid and the Erie Otters for the J. Ross Robertson Cup.

Hunter Smith had the other goal for Oshawa, while Ken Appleby made 20 saves in net for the win.

Nick Moutrey had a power-play goal at the 12:36 mark of the third period for North Bay. Jake Smith stopped 22 shots for the Battalion.

The Generals didn’t score on their three power-play opportunities. North Bay went 1 for 5 with the man advantage.
