The Ottawa 67’s are getting their offence in line and moving up in the standings.
Cody Lindsay had a goal and two assists as Ottawa doubled the Belleville Bulls 4-2 in Ontario Hockey League action Tuesday night.
Forward Dalton Smith had a goal and added an assist for the 67’s.
“It was great to get out of that little slump,” said Smith, who hadn’t scored since Nov. 29, a span of 10 games.
“I started going to the front of the net and the places I was getting goals earlier and was able to get a nice juicy rebound.”
The 67’s led 2-1 after the first period and 3-1 after 40 minutes to record their second straight win, vaulting them into first place over the Peterborough Petes in the East Division.
The Bulls have now lost eight of their past nine contests and are last in the East Division.
Elsewhere in the OHL it was London 4 Guelph 2; Erie 4 Saginaw 1; Barrie 7 Kitchener 4; Plymouth 5 Sarnia 2; and Sudbury 4 Sault Ste. Marie 2.
At Ottawa, Tyler Toffoli and Ryan Martindale also tallied for the 67’s (18-15-5).
Michael Curtis and Luke Judson replied for Belleville (11-21-6).
Knights 4 Storm 2 At Guelph, Ont., Colin Martin had the eventual winner as London doubled the Storm.
Leigh Salters, Phil Varone and Daniel Erlich also scored for London (25-9-1).
Taylor Beck and Vadim Guskov replied for Guelph (14-19-3).
Otters 4 Spirit 1 At Saginaw, Mich., Zack Torquato scored twice to lead Erie over the Spirit.
Greg McKegg added a pair of goals for the Otters (16-15-6).
Barry Sanderson scored the lone goal for Saginaw (17-15-3).
Colts 7 Rangers 4 At Kitchener, Ont., Alex Hutchings had a hat trick as Barrie galloped to a win over the Rangers.
Luke Pither and Nick Crawford both had a goal and an assist for Barrie (30-4-1), while Bryan Cameron and Darren Archibald also tallied.
Jeff Skinner scored twice for Kitchener (24-9-3), while Andrew Crescenzi and Chris MacKinnon had markers.
Whalers 5 Sting 2 At Sarnia, Ont., Tyler J. Brown and Josh Brittain scored twice as Plymouth beat the Sting.
Stefan Noesen had the other goal for Plymouth (22-16-1).
Brandon Francisco and Kale Kerbashian replied for Sarnia (13-23-2),
Wolves 4 Greyhounds 2 At Sudbury, Ont., Eric O’Dell had a pair of goals as the Wolves took a bite out of Sault Ste. Marie .
John Kurtz had a goal and an assist for Sudbury (15-18-4), while Kain Allicock also scored.
Vern Cooper and Jake Carrick tallied for the Greyhounds (19-16-3).
