OHL Roundup: Chmelevski keeps 67’s streak alive as Ottawa downs IceDogs

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — Sasha Chmelevski put away the game-winning goal late in the third period as the Ottawa 67’s edged the Niagara IceDogs 3-2 on Thursday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Tye Felhaber and Graeme Clarke also scored as the 67’s (9-3-0) won their sixth in a row. Cedrick Andree made 30 saves for the win.

Kirill Maksimov and Kyen Sopa supplied the offence for the IceDogs (5-4-2). Stephen Dhillon turned aside 41 shots for Niagara.

Ottawa could not score on its four power plays and Niagara was 1 for 5 with the man advantage.

STEELHEADS 4 BATTALION 3

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Adam Varga had the eventual winner as Mississauga held on for a win over the Battalion.

Richard Whittaker, Cole Carter and Ryan Barbosa also scored for the Steelheads (7-2-1).

Matthew Struthers, Justin Brazeau and Brandon Coe responded for North Bay (4-7-0).

SPITFIRES 4 COLTS 3

WINDSOR, Ont. — Chris Playfair had the winner 7:51 into the third period as the Spitfires eked out a win over Barrie.

Luke Kutkevicius, Daniel D’Amico and Connor Corcoran also scored for the Spitfires (5-5-0).

Luke Bignell had a pair of goals for the Colts (5-5-1) and Ben Hawerchuk added a single.

GENERALS 4 PETES 1

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — Eric Henderson scored twice as Oshawa beat the Petes.

Danyk Drouin and Jack Studnicka rounded out the attack for the Generals (4-4-1).

Cole Fraser replied for Peterborough (8-3-0).
