OHL Roundup: Colts edge Frontenacs in OT to take Game 1 of 2nd round

BARRIE, Ont. — Jason Willms scored his second of the game 1:58 into overtime as the Barrie Colts beat the Kingston Frontenacs 6-5 on Wednesday in Game 1 of their Ontario Hockey League second-round playoff series.

Jaden Peca, Dmitry Sokolov, Aaron Luchuk and Ryan Suzuki also scored for Barrie, which hosts Game 2 on Friday night.

Jason Robertson led the Frontenacs with a goal — the game-tying one midway through the third period — and two assists. Linus Nyman, Justin Pringle, Matt Hotchkiss and Jakob Brahaney rounded out the offence.

Colts goaltender Leo Lazarev made 23 saves. Kingston’s Jeremy Helvig stopped 39 shots.

Barrie was 1 for 2 on the power play while the Frontenacs scored twice on their two chances with the man advantage.
