OHL Roundup: Gogolev lifts Petes over Battalion

The Peterborough Petes defeated the North Bay Battalion 4-1 for their fifth win of the season.

NORTH BAY, Ont. – Pavel Gogolev put away the power-play winner 13:17 into the first period as the Peterborough Petes subdued the North Bay Battalion 4-1 on Monday afternoon in the Ontario Hockey League.

Chad Denault, Adam Timleck and Semyon Der-Arguchintsev also scored for the Petes (5-2-0). Hunter Jones made 32 saves for the win.

Brad Chenier scored for the Battalion (2-5-0) as Christian Propp kicked out 41 shots in net.

The Battalion’s Daniel Walker was given a match penalty for blindsiding at 19:49 of the third period.

Peterborough went 1 for 4 on the power play and North Bay was 1 for 3 with the man advantage.
